The 39th Annual Vermont State Scholastic Chess Championships will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Lamoille Union High School in Hyde Park, VT. We invite all Chargers to register at https://vermontchess.org and help us defend our title as CHESS STATE CHAMPIONS!

This tournament is open to Vermont students in grades K-12; no prior tournament experience is necessary. Please note:

• Participants must be VT residents or be enrolled in a VT public or private school
• VT resident home school students are eligible
• Chessboards, pieces, and clocks will be provided
• High School, 8th and 5th Grade sections serve as a qualifier for national-level tournaments, so they are USCF rated. A current USCF membership is required for participation in those sections. Please make certain that your membership is current prior to registration. You may obtain or update a USCF membership online at https://uschess.org
• Individual and team prizes will be awarded
