Congratulations to Craftsbury Academy which was named to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP program is delivering results and broadening access for students.
Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on their ability to increase their school’s college-going culture, to provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Craftsbury Academy has earned the Silver distinction, with 76% of seniors taking at least one AP exam during high school and 53% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam.
Offering 11th and 12th grade students four AP courses per year, Craftsbury Academy options include: AP English Language and Composition, AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP World History: Modern, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Environmental Science, and AP US History. Course options alternate from year to year.
Commenting on the news of this recognition, Craftsbury Schools K-12 guidance counselor Sally Guebara said, “While most of our students take AP courses on campus, Craftsbury does also offer AP Courses through Vermont Virtual Learning Cooperative (VTVLC). It's wonderful that we are able to form rich, dynamic relationships with our students while providing excellent learning opportunities. AP classes allow our students the opportunity to compete nationally with other students while maintaining our small hometown environment.”
College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Taking AP courses demonstrates to college admissions officers that students have sought the most challenging curriculum available to them.
