In 2022-2023, Craftsbury Schools will return to pre-pandemic expectations for school attendance. We have completely returned to an in person learning model PreK-12. The Craftsbury Town School District will hold high expectations for  school attendance in accordance with Vermont law  (V.S.A. Title 16, Chapter 25) in order to facilitate and enhance student learning.

The Craftsbury Schools recognize that regular attendance at school is essential for students to succeed. Accurate records of attendance will be kept for all students, and parents will be notified if their child’s attendance becomes a concern. Craftsbury Schools work with a learning engagement social worker from  Lamoille Restorative Center for issues relating to school attendance.  When a student misses 10 or more days of school, a social worker from the Lamoille Restorative Center may contact the family to plan interventions for improved attendance. Learn more in the Student-Parent Handbook (Student Attendance section).

Daily Tardiness

Students and parents should plan to be on time every day. All students who are late for school will receive a tardy slip from the office before being admitted to class. The school will work with the family to correct chronic lateness.

If chronic lateness continues, a consequence may be given. As an example, a student may be required to make up time missed after the school day ends. Students who are late due to a late bus will be admitted without this procedure.  All students arriving late must be signed in at the office by a parent or guardian. High school students who drive themselves to school can sign themselves in, however, a call from a parent or guardian must be made to the school to explain their late arrival.
